According to CEO Ivan Zhao, Notion AI was designed to solve the “cold start” problem many people face when they sit down to write something new. That means this software isn’t intended to produce pieces ready for publication right away; rather, it provides users with a first draft which can then be edited until they’re comfortable sharing their work with others. Additionally, Zhao suggested using Notion AI for brainstorming ideas or translating existing texts into different languages – talk about getting more bang for your buck.

For example, the new AI capabilities allow users to automatically generate insights from their data, such as summaries and visualizations, as well as automated tagging, which helps them find relevant information faster when searching through large datasets or documents stored within Notion’s database system called “Blocks”. This means less time spent manually organizing information and more time focused on actually getting things done.

How does it help businesses?

By automating tedious tasks such as summarizing text or creating visuals from raw data, teams can save hours of manual labor while still being able to access important insights quickly and easily at any given moment – allowing them to stay ahead of the competition in today’s ever-changing business landscape.

Furthermore, with its built-in integration capabilities, companies have the ability to connect other tools they already use, such as Slack or Google Drive, into their workflow for maximum productivity gains – making this a no-brainer choice for anyone looking to maximize efficiency within their organization.

How does Notion AI work

It’s surprisingly simple – select what type of writing you want help with from a list of options such as “blog post” or “marketing email” and provide a suitable prompt.

Hit enter and watch as Notion AI creates text in real-time. The best part is that it takes into account any specific details you provide – so whether you need a quick blog post or an entire research paper, Notion AI has got your back.

Notion AI Feedback: My Results With Notion AI

Write Blog Article using Notion AI Assistant

To test out this incredible tool, I decided to ask Notion AI to write about Notion AI. I mean, I would expect it to know the ins and outs of itself and generate an awesome introduction to this tool (so I don’t need to write this review article myself, maybe?)

Within minutes, I had a full-length article written with perfect grammar and syntax — something that would have taken me hours if done manually. However, like with any AI writing tool, the article lacks details and insights. In other words, it provides general content, which could be useful as a first draft to start with.

Below is the blog post written by Notion AI without any editing:

Write a Sales Email with Notion AI

Then, I decided to ask Notion AI to write a sales email about Notion AI.

As you can see, it provides similar content to the blog article above. Again, I believe it would be a great draft to start with, saving you much time compared to starting from scratch.

Write Job Description

As a business owner or a manager, I believe we’ve all copied and pasted job descriptions from online sources at some point in our hiring process. Writing job descriptions is something that no one wants to start from scratch. So, I think Notion AI would come in handy with this feature.

To test it out, I’ve asked Notion AI to write a JD of a Marketing Manager. Here’s the output:

Using Notion AI to generate a job description for Marketing Manager role

It includes some general responsibilities like “develop and manage marketing budgets to ensure we are maximizing our return on investment (ROI)” and qualifications like “5+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a management role,” which are quite commonly seen for this role.

Overall, it’s a great draft to start with. You only need to add a bit more specific requirements for your industry and the role. I’d personally like to use it for hiring.

Brainstorm Ideas

I gave Notion AI the prompt of “brainstorming ideas on increasing sales and revenue”. Here’s the list of ideas Notion AI gives me:

It offers a list of 10 ideas, from offering discounts, expanding product offerings, to establishing partnerships and optimizing pricing strategies, Notion AI does quite a good job of brainstorming ideas.

Write Meeting Agenda

I asked Notion AI to write a meeting agenda about setting and evaluating company OKR. Here’s what I got:

Notion AI meeting agenda example

It’s pretty impressive – it includes everything that you normally want to discuss in an OKR meeting, saving team leaders and managers much time to draft a meeting agenda.

Draft Social Media Posts

I’d want to promote this post on my LinkedIn – so, why don’t I ask Notion AI to generate me the social media post?

I gave it a more detailed prompt this time:

I gave Notion AI this prompt to write a social media post for me

Here’s the result:

I love how it uses a friendly and energetic tone in writing and includes several hashtags. However, it does sound a bit too hard-selling to me. I decided to just write my post to fit my personal tone better.

Summarise

Finally, I asked it to summarize this post after I’ve completed everything else – including the below how-to guide and the FAQs section.

Using Notion AI to generate a summary of this review article
Notion AI summarises this article for me

I’m surprised by how well Notion AI has summarized this article! Personally, I think it does a better job in summarizing this article than I could potentially do.

All in all, I find Notion AI to be pretty impressive. Similar to what the CEO Ivan Zhao suggested, Notion AI is a great thought partner and assistant to help you work more efficiently by generating drafts for nearly everything, instead of helping you produce pieces ready for publication immediately.
